Verity Germaine

Leave the Lights On
A slow-burn, comfy-sexy, intimate invitation; a peek into the lap dance I could do in your living room later. I'll take my time and then you can take me. Hashtag cozyfemme.

Just One Dance
An upbeat, glamorous, and flirtatious summons to you, my beloved audience -- you may look all you like, when I choose to reveal, and maybe even touch. Later. If you make it worth my time. This is a nod to both classic burlesque and to the sex workers that underpin our history and our present.

Phryne with the Golden Gun
A sleek, sensuous homage to our favorite Australian crime-fighting heroine, Miss Fisher. Created for a show dedicated entirely to the cult favorite TV Show Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, this showcases Phryne’s dangerous side. Author Kerry Greenwood originally conceived of Miss Fisher as a female 1920s James Bond, weapons, cars, lovers and all; performer Verity Germaine can think of no better prompt to build an act out of.

A Little Party
Come on down and party like it's 1929 -- we're the bee's knees these days, riding high on bathtub gin and that new modern music. This a shimmy-and-fringe dance piece to "A Little Party" from the Great Gatsby soundtrack; did anyone order tassel-twirling via doing the Charleston? Because we can provide that here.

Kitty Pryde Parade
Kitty Pryde Parade
Often we hear about mutants struggling with their powers and their place in the world, and Shadowcat’s life certainly hasn’t been perfect or easy. But what if we could see just how much fun it would be to have superpowers? Here’s a bright and cheerful reverse-strip, wherein Kitty gets to revel in her powers and the joy of saving the world. (It’s not just a phase, you know.)

River Tam
An homage to River Tam from Firefly -- a girl who was made into a weapon, and had to fight to take back ownership of her own power once again. An athletic, desperate battle to triumph over the outside and inside forces that wish to use you for their own ends, and a love letter to everybody who gets up to fight again.

...and so many more, including:
* a very silly act as Tina Goldstein from Fantastic Beasts..., showcasing Tina's one true love
* a fringe-y foggy fan dance -- with a very different set of fans; a tribute to early 20th century scientist Hertha Ayrton
* a duet with Titania Teaseblossom where a robot & scientist fall in love
* a speak-and-strip inspired by Cradle Will Rock, about sex work, stripping, legal oppression, and human rights

...and more. Curious? Want me to bring an act to a theme? Contact me! I just might have what you're looking for.
